Tarek El-Gioshy, Board Member of the Metallurgical Industries Chamber at the Federation of Egyptian Industries and Chairman of El-Gioshy Steel Group, has officially submitted his candidacy papers for the Chamber’s new board elections for the 2025–2029 term, scheduled to take place on October 29.

Currently, El-Gioshy serves as Chairman of the Investors Association in New October City, Head of the Investment Committee at the 6th of October Investors Association, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of New October City, and Deputy Head of the Industry Committee at the Republican People’s Party. He is also a sitting board member of the Metallurgical Industries Chamber, appointed under Ministerial Decree No. 166 of 2023.

El-Gioshy holds strong academic credentials. He earned a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the Arab Academy for Science, Technology & Maritime Transport and is in the final stages of completing a PhD in Industrial Facility Management from the same academy.

The elections are expected to be highly competitive, with several prominent figures in the steel and metallurgical industries running, including Ahmed Ezz, Gamal El-Garhy, Ayman El-Ashry, and Amr Kandil. The board will consist of 12 elected members representing three categories of companies (large, medium, and small), four from each category. An additional three members will be appointed by the Minister of Trade and Industry to complete the full board of 15 members, after which the Chamber’s chairman and two deputies will be chosen from among the elected and appointed members.

Through his leadership of El-Gioshy Steel Group, Tarek El-Gioshy has significantly increased the company’s production levels at its factories in the 6th of October industrial zone. He has placed strong emphasis on global quality standards, utilizing Italian-owned testing centers affiliated with El-Gioshy Steel to ensure premium product quality. His efforts have also driven a major leap in exports, particularly to markets in Libya, Sudan, and several other African countries.
